Challenge Rafting operates a variety of exciting half day white water rafting trips on Queenstown's famous Shotover and Kawarau Rivers.
The Kawarau River provides an exhilarating trip for first time rafters.
The Shotover River provides the action for those looking for extra excitement and thrills. (no rafting experience necessary)
Kawarau River: A Great Introduction to Whitewater Rafting. The four rapids on the Kawarau River are exciting and the scenery is superb. Between rapids you will experience calmer stretches of river, with a unique perspective of the historic Kawarau Bungy Bridge as your raft passes under. The grande finale is the unforgettable 400 metre Dog Leg Rapid to end your trip on New Zealand's largest volume commercially rafted river.
Shotover River: Step across this great frontier and meet the challenge of rafting the Shotover River, experience the rugged beauty and unspoilt grandeur of the breathtaking scenery as you conquer this wild and untamed river. Tackle six rapids then raft through the darkness of the 170 metre Oxenbridge Tunnel and shoot the Cascade Rapid to complete the challenge.

Other Information
- During the winter months (June - October) all Shotover River rafting trips start with a short helicopter flight due to the state of the service roads. (see Shotover Helirafting)
- Helirafting can be done all year round
- You must be able to swim
- Children 13-15 years must be accompanied by an adult
- Children 16-18 must have written consent from a parent or guardian
- Please bring swimwear, a towel and a warm jacket for after your trip
- Shotover River is grade 3 - 5 rapids, Kawarau River is grade 2 - 4 (may vary with weather and seasons)
