Milford Sound (Piopiotahi) is without doubt his finest sculpture. Whatever the fiord’s mood, teeming with rain or with sun glistening on deep water, it will inspire you.
When the day visitors depart a silence descends. An overnight cruise amidst spectacular Milford Sound, is a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience.
Real Journeys offers two overnight cruise options at Milford Sound. Each cruise offers passengers a relaxing opportunity to explore the magnificent scenery and wildlife of Milford Sound. They do differ in terms of accommodation – Milford Mariner private cabins with ensuite bathrooms (60 passengers) and Milford Wanderer shared bunk style accommodation & twin share (61 passengers).
An overnight cruise on board the Milford Wanderer is a unique adventure. With our nature guide and friendly crew, you will cruise the full length of the fiord. Keep a lookout for wildlife, especially fur seals basking on the rocks. There is plenty of time available for you to go exploring in the kayaks and tender craft. As the shadows deepen the Milford Wanderer returns under sail (weather permitting) to Harrison Cove for the night. In our cosy saloon enjoy a delicious meal and socialise with other passengers. Quad share & Twin share sleeping arrangements.
