What's it all about
We have built a platform on the edge of a cliff 109m/360ft above the Shotover River. At the platform you are fitted into a seat and chest harness and connected to the jump ropes. This harnessing configuration keeps your arms and legs free throughout the journey and enabling you to safely depart the platform in any position imaginable. Gravity does the rest.
Canyon Rush
The rush starts at our platform as you leap or launch from the 109 metre high cliff edge. Gravity accelerates you for 60 metres of freefall just metres from the vertical cliff face. Reaching speeds of 150kph as the canyonous rocks rush towards you before the ropes smoothly swing you past.
The Experience
At Shotover Canyon Swing no one's pushing you through at breakneck speed. With each trip limited to 11 passengers (including space for spectators) there's no rush and no crowds. You've time to soak in the surroundings – one of the most spectacular valleys in the region; to chat with your driver – who'll act as host throughout the trip; and to have fun without felling pressured. Your jumpmaster will expertly manage your fear factor while ensuring your enjoyment. Whether you're confident or timid we know exactly how to ensure you have a great time.

Launching yourself from 109 metres into a canyon is a scary move. With over 10 different jumpstyles we can expertly manage the scariness for everyone – from knitting nana's to adrenalin junkies! All these different styles are made possible by the unique combination of our chest and seat safety harness, cliff top platform, special release mechanism and a whole lot of product sampling!!

I've done dozens of bungys around the world and this one takes the cake! Don't be fooled by the name... this is absolutely nothing like your average backyard swing! 109 metres of terror!!
One of the best things about this site is that there are so many ways to throw yourself into the deep canyon below. If you've only got time for one adrenalin activity in Queenstown then this is the one.
Suggestions: If you don't think you'll be able to make the leap of faith then the jump masters on site have plenty up their sleeves. They can take the responsibility entirely out of your hands. Check out the 'Chair' or 'Cutaway' jump styles.
Extra jumps are dirt cheap so take advantage while you're out there.
