Ski Field - Coronet Peak
Reviews
Everything Travel Group Review
Coronet Peak is by far the busiests of the local ski fields with great terrain for intermediate to advanced skiers and boarders alike. Being the closest field to town however does mean that there are by far the most people on the slopes and lifts can get congested and ski runs crowded. The ski field is also south facing so when the shadows appear in the early afternoon the snow can get hard and fast, hence the name 'Concrete Peak', adopted by many of the locals!
Lift passes are unable to be pre purchased so we don't have any ski packages available for Coronet Peak. However, if you do need to hire clothing, skis, boots or snowboards then we recommend orgainsing them before you head up the mountain. This will save you the hassel of organising it first thing in the morning before you ski and also saves money as they are heaps cheaper than hiring gear on the mountain. Check out the Skis, Boards & Clothing Rental page on our site.
We recommend you book a Cardrona ski field package as the snow is often superior and there are less people with more open spaces to enjoy beginner and intermediate skiing and boarding. Check out the Cardrona Ski Field Ski Packages available on our site.
If you are an advanced skier or boarder then consider going to Treble Cone for the most challenging terrain in the New Zealand. It's a bit further away but worth it if the snow is good!
