The latest craze to hit Queenstown. Ziptrek Ecotours is a thrilling eco-adventure that combines adventure and ecological exploration in a spectacular two-hour flying fox journey through the forest canopy.
The best framed views of Lake Wakatipu can be experienced on an interpretive guided tour using flying foxes as low impact adventure access. Join us on a series of lines that traverse the forest in a way that will never be forgotten.
Ziptrek’s all-weather, all-abilities tour operates year round and is perfect for families, groups and those who have never ziplined before.
Come join us on our exhilarating zipline (flying fox) adventure above spectacular Queentown! Ride up the Skyline Gondola and then glide through the treetops on a series of four flying foxes. Your experienced Guides will deliver an interpretive tour as you "Zzziiiiiip" from tree to tree. Breath in some pristine mountain air as you venture on a carefully crafted journey that combines exhilaration, adventure, and ecological exploration.
Offering spectacular views of the surroundings, Ziptrek Ecotours offers a thrilling eco-adventure experience, while also providing the opportunity to learn about what this breathtaking place has to offer.
Trip Includes
- 1.5 to 2 hour exhilarating aerial tour through the forest canopy
- 4 separate flying foxes of varying length and speeds
- 8 treetop platforms
- Interpretative and informative guided talk on tree platforms with an ecological focus

- Departs regularly throughout the day
- Departs from the top of the Skyline Gondola complex. You will need to catch the gondola to the top (at your expense) or walk up the track (45 minutes)

- Reservations are essential
- Closed toed footwear is required
- Pregnant guests and those with a recent injury are not allowed to participate
- Minimum age is 7 years
- Seniors discount available
- Maximum weight limit 125kg (275lbs)
- Guest must be a minimum of 15 years old to zip without a guardian
- All minors (18 years and under) require a guardian signature on their waiver
- It is cooler in the canopy of the trees. You are encouraged to wear additional layers for their own comfort on the tour
- Tours include light stair climbing and trail walking so you must be able to walk unassisted
