Latest Questions about Canyoning - Twelve Mile Delta

after the canyoning, is that a place where we can take shower or cleaning ?

Comments

After the canyoning trip in Queenstown there is somewhere for you to dry off and get changed into some warm clothes. Most people just stay wrapped up in their clothes and shower once dropped back at their hotel afterwards.

We have changing rooms, toilets and hot showers at our base in Bobs Cove for you to use after your Queenstown Adventurer trip. Perfect to warm up and rinse off before returning to town.

Are rock jumps necessary to get through the trip? I don't have any experience canyoning but would love to try.

Comments

You'll need to jump off a few little rock jumps during the Twelve Mile Delta Queenstown Canyoning but nothing overly high so nothing to worry about. There is always a walk around option with all obstacles if you are not up for it.

Are there any canyoning trips you guys have in may?

Comments

The canyoning in Queenstown operates during the warmer summer months only (Oct-Apr). If you are wanting to participate in a water activity in May then you can try white water rafting on the Shotover River which operates all year.

I will be 4 months pregnant. Can I do the Twelve Mile Delta canyoning?

Comments

Hi Julia, women up to 4 months pregnant are allowed to go on the Twelve Mile Delta trip as they are given the easier route through the Canyon and do not need to do any of the rock jumps. Women over 4 months are not permitted.

Hi, one of our group is a pretty big guy - about 130kg, about 6 1. Would that be a problem?

Comments

Hi Chris, the only reason this would be an issue is if they didn't fit the gear worn such as the wetsuit etc.  If you could just note these details in the additional information when you make your booking then we can pre warn canyoning so they can ensure they will have gear to fit.

Hi Fiona. You are fine to do the Twelve Mile Delta Canyoning on the 11th April. At this stage there is still space for that day.

Hi. I am coming to Queenstown with my 12 1/2 year old son. We have no canyoning experience but are interested in trying. Can you advise if experience is recommended at his age to try this

Comments

Hi Jamie, the minimum age for the Twelve Mile Delta Canyoning is 12. If your son has a reasonable level of  fitness and is confident in the water then he will be fine. No previous canyoning experience is required in order to do this activity.

What level of swimming do you need for this activity?

Comment by: Emily on 25th Mar 12 at 20:19

Hi Emily. For the half day Tweleve Mile Delta canyoning you do not need to be able to swim. If this is the case however, you just need to let us know when you book. If you want to do the full day Routeburn Canyoning experience you need to be able to swim confidently.
