Description
Doubtful Sound, located in Fiordland in the far south west of New Zealand, is simply breathtaking. This remote but vast area must be experienced and an overnight cruise really is the best way to get the most out of this pristine destination. Relax in the peace that engulfs you as you admire the sheer beauty of the wild flora and fauna. Doubtful Sound is the second largest fiord of the many located in Fiordland National Park and is approximately ten times larger than well known, Milford Sound. The atmosphere is powerful with the unique feeling of solitude that overwhelms those who visit this spectacular sound.
Cruise across majestic Lake Manapouri, littered with 33 small islands, before getting in a coach to navigate Wilmot Pass. On arrival in Deep Cove you will board the Fiordland Navigator, your home for the night, and cruise deep into Doubtful Sound.
On board the stunning Fiordland Navigator you will have plenty of time to explore Doubtful Sound's secluded passages. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife encounters including bottlenose dolphins, fur seals and if you're lucky the rare Fiordland crested penguin. Choose to kayak at your leisure following the rugged shoreline or enjoy a ride in the tender craft with an informative nature guide. As the day comes to an end the Fiordland Navigator will park up at a cherished spot for the evening. Sit back and enjoy a drink as you appreciate the closing views for the day before tucking into a delectable buffet dinner in the elegant dining saloon.
Your room for the evening will be in a gender specific quad share room made up of four singled beds in bunk-style. This is the best value for money accommodation on the boat. If you are a couple looking for a more private cabin with an ensuite bathroom then you can book a twin share room at the following link: Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise Twin Share.
