Does the Shotover Jet Boat operate in Queenstown when it rains?

Comments

Hi Susanne. Thanks so much for contacting us about the Shotover Jet in Queenstown, and it's operation during rain conditions. Generally speaking, the trip will still run in most rainy conditions however on occasion there is so much rain that it causes the river to rise to a level where they are unable to operate.

Hi, Am I able to use my own gopro on the Shotover Jet?

Comments

You are only allowed to use you GoPro if it is hands-free by way of using a forehead mount strap. These can be purchased at the base building.

There is also a camera at the front of the boat which captures some great footage and there will also be photos taken from the land which are available to purchase after the jet boat.

Is 74 years too old for the trip

Comments

Thank you so much for inquiring about the Shotover jet boat in Queenstown, and whether it is suitable for a 74-year-old to participate. We would say this trip would be suitable for most ages if people have a general level of physical integrity. We would advise those with any neck or back issues to take a more cautious approach to join this activity.

Hi!
Can my 1 yr old daughter join us in this ride?

Comments

Hi KB. Unfortunately there is a minimum height requirement of 1 metre (3ft) to ride the Shotover Jet in Queenstown so your 1 year old daughter will not be able to accompany you I'm sorry. If you do still wish to ride the Shotover Jet then you and your partner/wife can do the jet boat ride at different times, one after the other, so that one of you can look after your child at all times. Please let me know if you need any assistance booking this.

Hi Helena, the Shotover Jet is a very popular activity and can book out in advance especially, if there are tour groups in town. While it is not essential to book before you arrive, we do recommend it to ensure you get your preferred time and day.

Does the jet boat operate in the rain?

Comments

Hi Chris. The Shotover Jet can operate if it's raining lightly but if the weather is really bad and it's pouring with rain then the drivers don't have optimal visibility and they will cease operations until it eases. If this happens you can reschedule with Shotover Jet or you can receive a full refund from us.
