Experience aerial views of mountains and glaciers on a scenic flight, before landing at Mt Cook Airport to explore the area.

The first leg of your Fly Explore Fly tour with Glenorchy Air is a scenic flight from Queenstown to Mt Cook. This is an incredible flight path with unrivalled views of the Southern Alps, West Coast glaciers and, of course, the towering 12,218ft Aoraki Mount Cook. Once you land in Mt Cook Village, you will be even more blown away by the beauty of New Zealand’s highest mountains. 

With 5 hours to explore in Mt Cook, you won’t be short of things to see. Your Glenorchy Air guide can point you in the right direction for the must-do Hooker Valley Track, a delicious lunch at the Hermitage Mt Cook and much more. To get closer to the famous Tasman Glacier, you can even take part in Mt Cook activities such as a ski plane or helicopter flight (please enquire). After an incredible taster of what Mt Cook has to offer, it’s time to meet your pilot for the return journey back to Queenstown.

• Lunch is not included, we recommend going to the Hermitage for lunch (additional cost)
• If you are planning to embark on a longer walk, e.g. the Hooker Valley Track, we recommend bringing a picnic lunch
• Please note: Any additional activities you would like to do during your free time in Mt Cook MUST be booked between 10:45am & 2:30pm
