Is there parking for motorhomes at the Nevis Swing? Where do we park?

Comments

The Nevis Swing is located on private property, so the tour includes a pick up from central Queenstown. There is limited parking available in Queenstown, especially for motorhomes, so if you are able to organise an alternative way to travel into Queenstown that day, that would be our first recommendation. Alternatively, you could try paid parking at the Man Street Carpark, which is quite close to your check in point for the Nevis Swing.

How do you exit the swing

Comments

Thank you for your question about the Nevis Swing. You are harnessed and strapped into the swing and once you have swung, the operator reels you back into where you swung from.

Hi

Can me ( father ) and son 12,and daughter 9 go on the swing at the same time like a tripple ?

Comments

Thank you so much for your enquiry. The Nevis Swing can only be done single or tandem (2 people), there is no option for a triple. Also, the minimum age is 10 years old for the Nevis Swing, and children under 10 years old can spectate for free.

I understand that the duration to take the Nevis Swing is about 4 hours. But I would like to kmow on the ride of swing itself how many minutes will it take? Also, usually how many swings will it take when riding the swing?

Comments

Thank you so much for your enquiry.  Yes, the total duration of the trip from check-in until return to Queenstown is up to 4 hours. The duration of the Nevis Swing itself is a few minutes and you will swing a 300-meter arc.

Would you say the swing is safe? I am planning on going on it but I have heard that someone died from going on it and I am wondering how safe the harness is because that has made me a little more anxious!😂

Comments

Hi Grace, Thank you for your question. The Nevis Swing is very safe, people go on it everyday. I have never heard of a casualty being here in New Zealand. I have personally been on it as well and it is a great experience and I felt completely safe. The staff are well trained in health and safety for all guests.

I will flying to Auckland after taking the swing. Is there any limitation/certain time I need to wait before flying?
What about after flying? Do I need to wait certain time before swinging after flying in from Auckland?

Comments

Heya, There is no correlation between diving and swinging, you can do both as much as you like whenever you like. You do not need to wait anytime before flying after swinging, only scuba diving because of the levels of nitrogen in your body.

For photography & video, how does the pricing work for tandem swing? Do both participants need to pay individually?

Comments

If you do the tandem Nevis Swing in Queenstown, then you only need to purchase one lot of photos and/or video as you'll both get captured. Cost is $45 for photos or video and $80 for both. You can actually check the images out on site after your swing before you purchase to see if you like them.

Can an under minimum weight 13 year old go tandem with her 24 year old sister? The average would be within weight recommendations.

Comments

Hello Edie, Yes the 13 year old can go tandem with her sister as the combined weight will be over 35kg. She would need written consent from a parent or guardian on the day as well to allow her to swing.

For the Nevis swing and the Nevis bungee, can I take my phone with me and get a onsite member to film or take photos? If not is there a place to leave my phone

Comments

There are lockers for you to stow things. After your ride, you can get your gear off and then take your phone back out across the bridge to get pics of orhers swinging. It was wonderful.

Is it possible to have three people swing at once?

Comments

Unfortunately it is not possible to do the Nevis swing in Queenstown as a 3 as there are only 2 harness points. If there are 3 of you then you could swing tandem and the other person could swing solo or one of you could swing twice so the 3rd person could also swing tandem.

Yes, all Nevis bungy jumps and swings in Queenstown are videoed and photographed and after your jump/swing, you can check them out on site and decide if you want to purchase them. Cost ranges from $40-$80 depending on what photo/video package you buy.

How much is it for a tandem bungy jump here? Also how much at kawarau?

Comments

Hi Joel, unfortunately you can't do a tandem bungy at the Nevis site. You can only jump tandem at the Kawarau Bungy and it is $195 per person. You can do the Nevis Swing as a tandem just not the bungy. The cost of the Nevis Swing as a tandem is $175 per person ($350 total).

Hi. My name is Sandra and I am from Germany. I want to make a special Christmas present for my boyfriend. Is it possible to expose a gift coupon for a nevis arc for the both of us?I want to do the nevis arc together with my boyfriend. It would be possible to transfer the money to a bank account of yours so you can send me the coupon.
We plan to visit new Zealand in 2015 or 2016, it would be great to get a coupon without an date of expiry.
looking forward for your answer!

Comments

Hi Sandra. Yes we can certainly organise an open dated gift voucher for you for the Nevis Swing in Queenstown. You can book this via our website and pay with your credit card. We will then email the gift voucher straight to you. The vouchers have 12 months validity but if you wish to extend this we can do this at no cost for as long as you like. To book, simply click on the link below and check the 'I want this to be an open dated gift voucher' button, then type in the required information, click the tick button and then select '2 x swing tandem (per person)' for $160 each. The total will be $320 for the both of you. You can then "add to basket' and proceed to Check Out where you can pay securely with your credit card. If you would prefer to pay by bank deposit then we can arrange for you to pay into our New Zealand bank account if you would prefer that but if you do have a credit card it is easier and quicker to pay securely online via our website.

I am doing sky diving a day before I plan to do swing...have fear of heights. ? But have done zipline as well.. would you rate it more difficult than skydive? Also is fhe videolike the one in promo.. or taken from platform

Comments

Hi Hassan.  I wouldn't rate the Nevis Swing more difficult or scary than a tandem skydive. The Nevis bungy is more scary as you have to jump off yourself where as when you are on the Nevis Swing you don't have to jump as you are released by the jump master. The video you get is a personalised video of your jump plus some promo material included.

Hi, just wondering what happens if I book the swing but then the weather turns bad and it rains? Do you still go ahead or is there a reschedule/refund policy?

Comments

Hi Eden. The only thing that will cancel the Nevis swing in Queenstown is really high winds and heavy snow. If this is the case then you will be able to reschedule or receive a full refund. The swing goes ahead in rain.

Hi there,

Interested in doing the swing with my brother. He however also wants to do the bungy jump at 134m is there a way to combine the two even though I will not being the jump?

Comments

Hi Samantha. Yes you can. The Nevis Bungy and Swing are both at the same location in Queenstown so if your brother books the Swing & Bungy Combo and you book just the Nevis Swing at the same time then you can watch your brother do the bungy and you can swing together.

Hi

Im enquiring about tandem swing, is the price per couple or paid each to do the tandem?

Thanks

Kind Regards
Vyvian

Comments

Hi Vyvian. It is a little cheaper to do the Nevis Swing in Queenstown as a tandem swinger rather than solo. The cost to swing tandem is $160 per person or if you do it solo the cost is $180 per person. If you choose to swing tandem you do need to book for 2 people though as you can't tandem swing on your own.

For the adult tandem does the second person have to be a instructor?

Comments

Hi Tess. No, for all Nevis Swing tandems there aren't any instructors. Both jumpers are paying customers. If you are travelling on your own then you need to book a solo swing and if you are travelling with friends then you can book solo or you can choose to book tandem where you both jump side by side.

Comment by: Everything Travel Group (Callum) on 8th Dec 11 at 11:36

Does the $160 pay for both adults in the adult tandem jump?

Comment by: Tess on 8th Dec 11 at 18:26

Hi Tess. It costs $160 per person if you book the Nevis Swing tandem (so $320 total for the 2 of you) or $180 if you want to swing on your own.
