Is this cruise wheelchair friendly?
Comments
Hi Annabel,
Wheelchairs are welcome on the Walter Peak BBQ Lunch tour. Getting on and off the Earnslaw isn't any problem as there is a ramp however the challenge can often be getting from the Earnslaw over to the homestead and then from the homestead over to the amphitheater where the farm show takes places as there are pebbles that make it not so smooth for a wheelchair. Wheelchair passengers certainly still go on the cruise however it will help to have someone with you that can maneuver the wheelchair over the stones.
What are the times for lunch, I see you have a 2 and 4pm departure what are return times? We are a group considering the lunch or dinner walter peak tour but we have a hike also that morning so what are our options? Thanks
Comments
The Earnslaw returns 3.5 hours after departure. So if you are on the 2pm cruise and BBQ then you will return back to Queenstown wharf by 5.30pm. If you book the 6pm dinner cruise then you will get back to the wharf around 9.30pm. Alternatively if you don't wish to eat lunch or dinner then you can do the cruise only which is 1.5 hours return.

Thank you for your question about the Walter Peak BBQ Lunch & Lake Cruise. Yes, there will be a substitute vessel in June 2022 to replace the TSS Earnslaw, it will be a water taxi. This means the price for the tour is cheaper an adult will be $109 NZD instead of $129 NZD and a child will be only $55 NZD instead of $65 NZD.
