The closest Ski field from Queenstown and also the most popular. Terrain suits skiers and snowboarders of all abilties.
Coronet Peak’s diverse terrain, superb facilities, fantastic views, proximity to Queenstown and cosmopolitan ambience create an unparalleled winter experience for every level of snow sport enthusiast.

A new state of the art base lodge for 2008 includes a restaurant, coffee and bar facilities, child care centre. Function room, outdoor heated deck, snowsports school, rental department, guest storage area, retail shop, ski patrol/first aid and guest services. These improvements complement a six seater express chair, express quad, double chair T-bar, handle tow, FIS specification half pipe and terrain parks. Extensive, state-of-the-art snowmaking ensures quality snow over a long season. Children aged six and under ski free.

There are a many different passes available, so we have tried to simplify the options to make it as easy as possible for you to book. Multi day passes offer the most significant savings. You can also get half day passes (12.30pm - 4pm) and on Fri & Sat nights from early July; twilight passes (12.30pm - 9pm) and night passes (4pm - 9pm). Multi Day Passes

These passes have a 2 day grace (with the exception of a 2 day lift pass which can be used over 3 days). For example a 3 day pass is valid over 5 days, a 6 day pass is valid over 8 days and so on. You can also use these passes on either Coronet Peak or The Remarkables ski fields. 1 day passes do not need to be booked in advance. These can be purchased on the day.

Combo Packs with lessons

There are a range of package options that include lift, lesson and rental, designed to suit your ability. These come in 1, 3 or 5 day ski or snowboard options. The longer the package the better you will become.

Starter Pack: Designed for the absolute beginner and has limited lift access. Enjoy the friendly beginner terrain and supportive coaching. Most people are able to stop, turn, and ride beginner lifts by the end of the second session.

Includes: A Lift Pass to ride the beginner lifts, recreational skis, boots and poles or snowboard and boots, and 2 X 1.5 hour group lessons.

3/5 Day Pack: Day 2 will see you experiencing the equivalent of the Progression Pak (see below). Day 3-5 will provide you with another group lesson per day with further skill enhancement and unlimited lift access allowing you to move beyond the novice slopes.

Progression Pack: Designed for the novice, intermediate or advanced skier / boarder who wants to brush up on the basic skills and fundamentals of skiing / boarding. If you have been before, even if it was 10 years ago, this is the product for you.

Includes: A Full Lift Pass, Recreational skis, boots and poles or snowboard and boots, and a 1hr 50min group lesson.

3/5 Day Pack: With further tuition from the experienced snowsports instructors you will grow in confidence and with experience. Days 3-5 will provide you with another group lesson per day (1hr 50mins) with further skill enhancement and unlimited lift access allowing you to move beyond the novice slopes and take on a wider terrain.

Chains
If you are driving yourself chains are often required, these are available to hire or buy from several petrol stations and ski shops in central Queenstown. You can not hire chains on the mountain road, you will need to organise these before you set off, and always consult the road and snow reports before leaving in the morning.

EQ Comments

Coronet Peak is by far the most popular of the local ski fields with great terrain for intermediate to advanced skiers and boarders alike.
When booking lift passes or Starter/Progression Packs make sure you have your clothing sorted before heading up the mountain as they are not included. There are many ski hire shops in town (Green Toad is a good choice) that rent out clothing the night before which saves you the hassel of organising it first thing in the morning before you ski. Remember, if you're wet and cold you wont enjoy your day in the snow. Be sure to wear water proof gloves, pants and a jacket!
