Where does the Queenstown Parasailing flight depart from?
The parasailing leaves from the Queenstown Paraflights kiosk on the main town pier on the lake in central Queenstown. It is located next to the K jet boat office.
Is parasailing in Queenstown weather dependent?
Yes, like many Queenstown activities, parasailing is weather dependent and can be cancelled with high winds or bad weather. For this reason it is always a good idea to book in advance for one of your first days in town so that if the weather is no good you can reschedule to another day. You will need to call Paraflights about 30 minutes before your flight (or pop into the kiosk on the main pier) to check if your flight is going ahead.
How many people can go parasailing in Queenstown?
You can parasail in Queenstown solo, as a tandem (2 people) or as a triple (3 people). There is a maximum combined weight limit of 200kg (440lbs). Kids under 12 years old must weigh at least 18kg (40lbs) and be accompanied by a parent.
How long does the parasail flight last for on Queenstown lake?
You will be in the air parasailing for about 10 minutes but the entire trip will take about 55 minutes as you will go out on lake Wakatipu in Queenstown on board the boat with several other passengers. While you are not flying you will be able to take in the sights of the surrounding mountains on board the boat as well as watch the other passengers parasail high above.
