The weather in January is usually great for both morning and afternoon. Occasionally we get some low lying clouds in the morning, which usually clear by the afternoon. I would recommend booking a flight for the first day of your trip as this means you are able to reschedule if it is cancelled due to bad weather conditions. If there is only one day that you can book the flight, then definitely book the morning slot as you could then hopefully reschedule for the afternoon if the weather wasn't suitable.
