Description

Mountain Carting at Cardrona is a gravity fuelled adventure will send you racing your friends on 3 wheeled carts down Cardrona's purpose built carting tracks. No previous experience is needed and a member of the carting team will provide you with a full safety briefing and guidance on how to use the carts.

Mountain Carts are 3 wheeled purpose built carts for alpine environments. They are built for the driver's comfort, safety and performance with a low centre of gravity and wide wheel base to provide you with stability. The carts feature hydraulic brakes and are built to handle super easily on the tracks.

There are three carting tracks to choose from with the longest one measuring over 3km and taking you all the way out to Captains Basin and back to Whitestar Express. Then jump on the chairlift at the end and do it all over again!

This is one unique experience we highly recommend and a great activity for families, groups of friends and stag parties!

Trip Includes

• 2 hour cart rental
• Mountain carting lift pass

Duration

• Allow 2.5 hours

Departures

• Open 10am - 5pm in peak season (26th Dec - 20th Jan)
• Open 10am - 4pm in off-peak season (14th - 24th Dec & 21st Jan - 2nd Mar)
• Open 12pm - 8pm every Friday
• Sessions operate at 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm & 2 pm (additional times in peak season)
• Self drive to Cardrona Alpine Resort (shuttles available from Cardrona Hotel)
• Operates in summer (Dec - Mar)

• The mountain shuttle departs from Cardrona Hotel
• Maximum weight to ride the carts is 110kg
• Child rates apply (8-17yrs)
• Minimum age is 8yrs (children 8-12yrs must be supervised by an adult)
• Charter transport from Queenstown & Wanaka available on request, please contact us
• Children under 100cm can ride the carts with their parents & at their parent's discretion
• Minimum age to ride Mountain Cart alone is 8 years old, & 12 years old to ride unsupervised
• There are on mountain facilities including a cafe, restaurant & retail store
• Wear sturdy footwear & clothing layers. Bring a windproof jacket as mountain conditions can change very quickly
• Friday evenings are open until 8 pm - ask us about the TGIF pass!
