is it open in month of may at what time and what are the charges

Comments

Yes the paragliding from the Skyline complex above Queenstown does operate all year. The cost is $219 per person and you can book a flight at any time during the day. There is a special on if you wish to fly first thing in the morning on the Early Bird flight and it will save you $30 per person. These flights are weather dependent so I recommend you book for one of your first days in Queenstown so that if the weather is no good for flying you can reschedule to another day or get a full refund from us.

Hi,
What is the average and minimum flight time? Do you land back on top of the mountain?

Comments

Hi Vanessa, the Gforce Paragliding flight time is between 8-12 minutes. You don't land back at the top of the gondola but instead you land at the bottom of the hill on a school field. You are given a ticket to go back up the gondola if you want to head back up there.

Is the gondola ticket valid for any time of the day? ie. Can we go up the Gondola early and paraglide later that day? Thank you

Comments

Hi Helen. Yes the gondola ticket is valid for any time so you can head up several hours before your Queenstown paragliding departure time if you like. That being said, there is an Early Bird Special which is $20 cheaper if you book the 9am flight. It's also often better flying conditions first thing in the morning as the winds are usually not as strong. So you may want to book this early flight and save some money then you can head back up the gondola (the pilot will give you a return ticket back up to the top if you ask him) so you can enjoy the other things to do at the top, such as the luge ride, bungy, cafe, bar, great views, etc.

Hi L, yes that's correct. The Gondola opens at 9am so for the 9am Gforce Paragliding you will need to be getting on the gondola at 9am.

I want to paraglide on the 14/08/2012 with my wife & 2 kids aged 6 & 4. is this suitable for the kids?
This is a 1st time experience for us & want to know more about this before pre booking.
does tandem mean that an experienced person will glide along? Please advise
Thank you

Comments

Hello Sir. All paragliding flights in Queenstown flights are tandem with a qualified pilot and are suitable for people of all ages and sizes including your young children. As a passenger you do not need to know anything about paragliding as the pilot is in total control. Please check out the images at the top of the listing to see how the tandem flights work. The person at the back is the pilot who controls everything and the paying customers sit in the front. You will need to catch the Skyline gondola up to the top of the hill to get to your take off area. The gondola ride is included in the price of your paragliding booking.

where does the 'gondola' fit in with this tour?
what do you mean "own gear" recommended? what is the "gear" referred to?

thank you.

Comments

Hi Edie. Before you do the Queenstown paragliding you will catch the gondola up to the top of the skyline complex which is where the paragliding departs from. The gondola ride is included in the cost of this activity. You fly from the top of the skyline complex and land in town below. The 'gear' refers to clothing. Sorry it is a bit ambiguous and I have now changed the wording on our site. Basically you just need to wear warm clothes as it does get cold especially during winter.

My friend and I are traveling to Queenstown next week, will you be offering tours even if it winter?

Comments

Hi Katie. Yes the paragliding in Queenstown from the top of the skyline gondola complex operates all year. In fact during winter there are less winds and clearer skies which means there are more flyable days than in summer. We do recommend booking before you arrive. If your scheduled flight is cancelled due to bad weather then you can reschedule to another day or get a full refund from us. Remember, if you book the 10am Early Bird flight in winter or the 9am flight in summer it's $20 cheaper.

Hi, I am very keen of trying this but am afraid that it will be fast like falling down like a rolling coaster. Can you advice me what is the speed like? This is my first time if I am going to do this and I will proof my heart to be strong,,LOL!

But really, please advice me before I do this.

Thanks & Appreciate it.

Comments

Hi Judy. The Paragliding with G Force from the top of the Skyline complex in Queenstown can be as gentle or as exciting as you like. The qualified tandem pilots will ask you what type of flight you want and they will offer a roller coaster flight with lots of spins or a more sedate scenic flight depending entirely on what you want.

Is it possible to buy a voucher? It's for a 21st birthday present, but I'm not sure when we will be able to take time off to go to Queenstown.

Comments

Hi Briar. You most certainly can make the G - Force Tandem Paragliding a gift voucher. When you click on the 'Book Now' tab to book the paragliding the following page will have the option to check a box that says "I want this to be an open dated Gift Voucher." Check this box and then follow the prompts.
