Thank you for your enquiry about Nzone Skydiving in Queenstown. Yes, spectators can make their own way out to the jump site if they have their own transfer. On occasion, subject to available seats, they may be able to take a ride with the Skydive shuttle bus. However, please note that this is on a request basis on the day and not a guarantee.
Is it better skydiving in the morning or afternoon?
Comments
Thank you so much for your enquiry! I would recommend booking Nzone skydive in the morning as winds are usually lower. Another benefit for booking the skydive in the morning is that you can reschedule for the afternoon in case the weather is not suitable in the morning.
Hi! I'm planning on going skydiving with friends in January 2022. There are 6 of us in total and so we were wondering if we will all be able to go up in the same plane together? Also, how early can we book for this experience? We have tried online but the dates in January seem to be unavailable. Is this because it is too early to book or because they have all been booked out? Thanks :)
Comments
Many thanks for your question about Nzone Skydive. Yes, your group would be able to be in the plane together, there is a maximum of 9 x paired jumpers.
Is the price $229 each if you are doing it with your partner? or $229 tandem together?

i would like to do skydiving at the end of this november. It would be perfect if there is still snow left. Is that possible?
Comments
It is usually warmer at the end of November but the higher peaks might still have some snow.
Hi, if weather is shower still allow for skydiving ?
Comments
Skydiving is weather dependent and rain, as well as wind, can cause cancellations. A weather-check is done 30 minutes before each departure as a safety regulation method. Skydives can be rescheduled to different departure dates & times in case the weather is not allowing to skydive.
Hi I’m trying to do skydiving for the first time. What’s the best outfit (clothes/s~%s) to wear?
Comments
You will be provided with some overalls for over the top, but you will just want to be wearing something comfortable and easy to move around in. Gym gear is most appropriate, alongside closed-toe s&^*s such as trainers which you can do up extra tight.
Hi. I am planning to skydive sometime during late september. Will the weather be usually ok during this time of year ?
Comments
Hi there, September marks the start of Spring in New Zealand so the weather will be a little warmer which is perfect for a skydive! There should also still be a little bit of snow on the top of the mountains which will make for some excellent photos :)
Skydiving is a weather dependant activity so we always recommend booking towards the start of your trip in case it needs to be rescheduled.
Is there any insurance coverage , if so what is the cost and what do you get for it
Comments
There is no insurance coverage. You will need to see if your holiday insurance covers Skydiving.
Do you run in the winter season ? July!
Is it safe? How about the weather? Snow???

You certainly can still Skydive in Winter, the mountains will be looking incredible with a layer of snow on top! It is completely safe, if the weather is not suitable the operator will cancel the jump and rearrange for another day.
Hello!
I was just wondering if we are able to use our own GoPro for video/pictures when skydiving, or if we have to just purchase them from you?
Thanks :)
Comments
Hi, When skydiving in Queenstown with NZONE you are not permitted to use your own go pro for safety reasons. You may only purchase your photo package on the day, they will run through this with you on the day you check in with all the photo packages available.

I'll be in NZ through march. Will there be snow capped mountains ? Or is it too early ?
Comments
It hard to say as the snow can be very random on the mountains. In general though i would say March is too early for the snow capped mountains.
Will be going to Queenstown end of this september, what time will be good for sky diving?
Comments
All year round is good for Skydiving here! Summer is peak on non windy days. September is pretty good because you still have the snow capped mountains to see and yet the temperature is a little warmer than in peak winter.

I will be in queenstown from 3 to 6 may..is it possible to skydive with a female tandem master?
Comments
Heya, NZONE do have a female tandem master at the moment and we can make a note on your booking that you would prefer her. However having a female tandem master cannot be guaranteed for many reasons such as she may not be at work on that day and she may not be the right weight for you etc.
Hi! I'll be traveling to NZ this June mid-month. Is that time of year good to go skydiving?
Comments
Hey Ela, absolutely! June is a great time for seeing snow capped mountains. I would recommend trying to book for the morning though, as the wind often picks up in the afternoons.
Hi, we will be driving to the NZone skydive shop for our skydiving activity. May I know if we will be landing in the same area or will there be transport back to the shop where we parked our car?

Hi, we were looking to book for skydiving but was wondering how long does the whole trip take starting from the shop in Queenstown till the end? Thanks.
Comments
The entire duration for the tandem skydiving in Queenstown is about 3 - 3.5 hours. Including checking in at the skydive shop in town, transfers to and from the skydive base located 20 minutes out of town and the pre jump briefing and jump itself.
do you do vouchers? we are coming over from Australia next year just don't know when and this will be a birthday present for someone
Comments
Yes you can certainly book a gift voucher for skydiving in Queenstown or any other activities via our website. To book the skydive voucher simply click on the Book Now button and tick the "I want this to be an open dated Gift Voucher" box then follow the prompts. We will then email your gift voucher straight back to you.
Can I get the refund back if I fall sick after I pre-book and paid for the sky diving?

Yes, our cancellation policy is such that as long as you provide us at least 48 hours notice prior to your Queenstown skydiving commencing then we will be able to refund in full.
can i wear my glasses when doing it?

Yes you can wear your glasses when skydiving in Queenstown. You are given plastic skydiving goggles and you can wear your glasses or contact lenses under these.
Can I skydive in the winter as well?
Isn't it too cold to do it?
How's the temperature in the sky?
Comments
Hi Moy, yes you certainly can skydive in Queenstown during winter. The skydiving operates all year round. The air temperature isn't actually too much different to the ground temperature so you won't freeze. You will just need to dress warmly and you are given a skydive suit as well.
Hi There, I will be visiting Queentown the second week of January 2015 and wondered if I needed to pre book my sky dive? Thanks Jackie
Comments
Hi Jackie. December to February are the busiest months for activities in Queenstown with many tours booking up several days and weeks in advance. Given skydiving is weather dependent I would recommend booking asap in order to secure the day and time you desire as often there can be a back log of bookings if the weather has been bad and skydives cancelled. I would suggest booking for one of your first days in Queenstown so that if the skydive does get cancelled you can reschedule to another day or receive a full refund.
Hi..
If my girl friend and I dive together, and we consider to take also the photo and video.. How much is the charges for the photo and video?? Charge as a set or per person??
Comments
Hi Pin. You can certainly go up in the same plane and you will both be able to skydive in Queenstown at the same time with your tandem instructors. If you want the free fall photos and/or video then you will each be allocated a professional photographer who will be assigned to you only. It is not possible for one photographer to film both of you at the same time. The cost is $189 if you want the photos or video or $229 if you want both. You can decide on the day when you check in if you want either of these options. I wold recommend booking for one of your first days in Queenstown as it is weather dependent so if the weather is no good then you can reschedule to another day or receive a full refund.
Hi,
I am visiting Queenstown from 21st-24thMay...
Does skydiving get cancelled often during this season due to weather conditions?
Comments
Hi Varsha. Skydiving in Queenstown is a weather dependent activity all year and can get cancelled due to low cloud or high wind. If your skydive is cancelled then you have the option of rescheduling or receiving a full refund. We do recommend you book your skydive for one of your first days in Queenstown so that if it is cancelled you can reschedule do another day. I would recommend booking this in advance as it is a very popular activity.
hi what are the prices with videos and images included
Comments
Hi Chris. If you wish to purchase videos or photos of your Queenstown skydive, you can organise this on the day when you are out at the Nzone dropzone before your skydive. The cost is: photos (20 printed images) cost $189, USB video is $189 or purchase both the photos and video for $229.
Hi Would like to look at booking a skydive for my husband for his 40th birthday, we will be in Queenstown from Aussie around the 15th march 2014, the only thing is he might be around 105kg and 6ft4ins is that going to be ok?
Comments
Hi Kelly. Unfortunately, the skydive regulations in Queenstown are pretty strict and the max weight limit is set at 100kg (220lbs). Occasionally the tandem jump masters can take people who are slightly heavier than 100kg, ie, 1-2 kilos over, but this is something that can only be decided on the day and depends on the wind conditions and is entirely up to the jump master.
Hi all,
Please can you let me know what the latest departure you do each day? Looking to go on a combo package which gets back to Queenstown at 13:00 - can we skydive straight after this?
Many thanks
Simon.
Comments
Hi Simon. Yes the skydiving in Queenstown departs hourly all day. There is a 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm departure. I'd suggest booking the 2.30pm so you have time to grab some lunch in town before your 2.15pm check in at the skydive shop.
Would I be able to skydive wearing my prescription glasses? thanks
Comments
Hi Brandon, you are given goggles to wear Skydiving in Queenstown and you could wear your prescription glasses under your goggles if you can fit them on.
hii!! are the adventure activities open in mid april??
Comments
Hi Aashka. Yes all the adventure activities including the skydiving in Queenstown are open and in full swing in April. In fact the skydiving and most other activities operate all year. As skydiving is weather dependent, we recommend booking it for one of your first days in Queenstown so that if the weather is no good for flying then you can reschedule to another day or receive a full refund.
I am wondering about the importance of the weight restriction. I am very close to 100kgs and am wondering if it is still safe to participate for someone very close to the weight limit. Thanks and please let me know.

Hi Joseph
Hello, i will be 25 weeks pregnant when looking to do it. do you allow pregnant people and is it safe to do when pregnant?
i'm thinking maybe not but thought i'd ask since all my friends are doing when in queenstown.
Comments
Hi Olivia, Nzone Skydive do not have a policy against pregnant women jumping as you jump at your own risk however they do not advise it. At 25 weeks pregnant I would suggest waiting and sit this activity out.
How many people have you lost?
Comments
Hi Peter,
When you say lost, I presume you mean how many people have died sky diving with NZONE. The answer in zero. They have a great safety record and as someone that has jumped with them, you can't go wrong.
my wife and i are planning to skydive in feb, but she insists on a female instructor with her when she jumps. just wondering if its a possibility
Comments
Hi Tanmay. There is only one female skydive instructor currently employed in Queenstown. Like the other instructors, she works on a rotational roster so there is no guarantees she will be working on the day you both decide you want to jump. That being said, we have been advised by the reservations manager that you can put a request in to jump with her and if she is available on the day then you can jump with her. For your information and your wife's piece of mind, all the male instructors are very professional and courteous.
Can I take my own go pro?
Comments
Hi Phil. Unfortunately for safety reasons, you are not allowed to take any camera or video equipment up in the plane with you when you go skydiving in Queenstown. If you do want video or photos of your skydive you can book a freefall photographer who will skydive next to you. This can be organised on the day when you check in for your skydive.
Hi I was just wandering what the free fall time is for 9000ft and 12000ft? I want to go this week. Thanks!
Comments
Hi Cassie, the freefall time from the 9000ft jump is 25 seconds, from the 12000ft jump it's 45 seconds and from the 15000ft jump its 60 seconds.
can i skydive alone ?
Comments
Hi Gaurav, all Nzone skydive's are tandem skydives so it will be you with an instructor. You are unable to skydive on your own.
If I want to book a 12000ft jump and my friend books a 15000ft jump on the same time and day would we go up in the same plane?
Comments
Hi Andrea. Yes, if you book a 12,000ft tandem skydive with Nzone skydive in Queenstown and your friend books the 15,000ft jump then you will be able to go up in the same plane together.
Approximately how many photos are taken on the jump? I done one before where we got about 100 photos from the instructions wrist camera and about 100 of my own (had camera on bungy cord attached to jump suit). Is the camera set to 3 second bursts or anything?
Comments
Hi Maggie, on the Nzone jump you can opt to have the freefall photos where a photographer will jump with you and you will get 20 high-res 6" x 8" colour printed photos, high res digital images on CD and online image access to watch you photo slideshow along with 8 personalised postcards.
Can i bring my own camera for photos? does someone jump out of the plane to take pics or is it on the instructors wrist?
Comments
Hi Noreen, unfortunately you can't take your own camera skydiving with Nzone in Queenstown. If you are wanting the photos and/or videos a photographer jumps out with you and it costs $179 for the DVD or photos or if you want them both then the total cost is $219.
We are holidaying in New Zealand early september. Wouldyou recommened skydiving at this time of year??
Regards
Jessie
Comments
Hi Jessie. Skydiving operates all year in Queenstown. Winter is often the best time of year to skydive as the weather is calmer with less winds and rain than summer and the mountains are snow covered which makes for some amazing scenery! Skydiving is weather dependent though so we do recommend booking for one of your first days in Queenstown so that if the weather is bad and you can't skydive you can reschedule to another day or receive a full refund from us.
Do you get photos or a Dvd with these jumps??
Comments
Hi Lauryn, the photos and dvd are not included in this price. These are available to purchase on the day directly from Nzone if you would like them.
we are palnning a trip to NZ and want to sky dive. one person in our group weighs 226lbs and i see the cut off is 220lbs. will we be weighed before the trip? would a few pounds over matter?
Comments
Hi Rachel yes 220lbs (100kg) is the limit for skydiving and they will not take over unfortunately, even if it is just by a little bit. They do weigh you on the day so if someone's booked thinking they are borderline but are over on the day then a refund will be provided.
are spectators allowed at the landing spot to watch you come down from the sky dive?
Comments
Hi Emma. Yes spectators are allowed to come along to the skydive drop zone in Queenstown as long as there is space in the van. What you will need to do is pop into the skydive shop the night before you plan on coming along to watch to see if there is going to be space for you in the Skydive van. If there is not space then you are welcome to drive yourself out to the drop zone (located 15 minutes out of town).
i will be on a contiki tour, so will that rule still apply for people also doing the tour, but they just want to watch?
Hi Emma, yes the same rule applies. If spectators want to go out to the drop zone that is absoluely fine but will need to check with Nzone there is space first unless they can make thier own way there.
My son and I plan on being in Queenstown in late July. Know it is cold there and wondered if you provide the appropriate clothing/gear so we don't freeze to death. Looking forward to our first skydive...
Comments
Hi Jeff, you are given overalls to do the skydive in however you will need to dress warmly underneath, plenty of layers!
Are there options on the 15000 feet not to do tandem ?
Comments
Hi Dylan, unfortunately there are no options to do a solo skydive. All skydives at Nzone Skydive Queenstown are tandem.
I AM SCARED OF HEIGHTS, BUT I LIKE THE IDEA OF THE TANDEM JUMP. I JUST NEED PERSUADING !!! (I MIGHT SEE YOU IN OCTOBER !)
Comments
Hi Gaz, Skydiving with Nzone Queenstown is an absolutely remarkable experience and one of a lifetime that I have no doubt that if you make the decision to jump you will absolutely love it, be thrilled you did it and want to do it again. The team at Nzone Queenstown are very helpful and accommodating to people who are nervous with heights and help people overcome this fear daily. I definitely recommend you take on the challenge in October!

Would like to know if you still operate If the weather is not suitable? I am looking to try in August.thanks
Hi Viviane. No, the skydiving only goes ahead if there are favourable weather conditions. This means that if it is raining or there is low cloud or high winds then the jumps are cancelled. If this happens you can reschedule to another day or receive a full refund. That being said, the weather in Queenstown in winter is usually very stable with low winds and clear skies so you have a good chance of skydiving in August.
Hi, im wondering if there is there a spectators fee?
Comments
Hi Nicole spectators of the Nzone skydive are welcome to go and watch the skydiving for free as long as there is room in their bus. This cannot be guaranteed though and is only available on the day. If there is no space in the bus spectators are welcome to drive themselves out to watch.
What is the maximum weight you will accept for a sky dive? Would 110kg be OK?
Comments
Hi Jenny. Unfortunately skydiving regulations at Nzone have a weight limit of 100kg and are unable to accept any heavier. An alternative option however could be a bungy jump. 110kg is fine for a bungy.
Are the photos and DVD included in the price of the skydive? If not how much are they?
Comments
Hi Sophie. The Nzone Skydive jump prices on the site do not include photos and videos. You need to pay for these separately on the day. The Freefall Photos are $179, the Freefall Video is $179 and if you want both the price is $219.
I have my own camera is that ok for me to bring it and film by myself(a gopro so it won't fall)
Hi Alain, unfortunately Nzone do not allow personal cameras to be taken skydiving. If you want the video of it you need to purchase it off Nzone on the day.
Hi! Is skydiving available all year round? Am planning to visit in May.
Comments
Hi Dan, yes that is correct, Nzone Skydiving in Queenstown operates all year round.
hey i was wondering how much was the dvd and photo combo be????
Comments
Hi Amanuel. The Nzone Queenstown skydive freefall photos & video cost $179 each or $219 if you purchase both. Your tandem jump master does not take the photos of you. If you choose to purchase the photos or video then you will have a personal photographer jump out of the plane with you and capture your tandem jump.
Would you happen to have a lighter instructor or something for my fat arse boyfriend who weighs in at 110kg??
Comments
Hi Lisa, unfortunately Nzone Skydive stick to their 100kg weight limit and cannot go over it. Maybe look into something else such as the 134m Nevis Bungy (max weight 127kg).
How long is the free fall for the 9000ft and 15000 ft Nzone Skydives?

Yes, April is a great time of year to skydive normally. It does operate all year but Early Autumn is often the best time to be in Queenstown.
The current cost to tandem skydive in Queenstown is in 2022 and early 2033:
$299 from 9,000ft
$379 from 12,000ft
$479 from 15,000ft
The higher you jump from, the longer the freefall is.
