A visit to Milford Sound is a must do for all visiting the South Island of New Zealand. Milford Sound is a fiord in the southwest of New Zealand' South Island and the sheer beauty of this magnificent place will have you in complete awe, leaving a lasting memory you will treasure forever. Imposing Mitre Peak and the magnificent waterfalls of Stirling and Bowen are even more impressive in real life than they are on postcards. Whether the fiord is gushing with rainfall creating spectacular waterfalls or sparkling in the sun shine, you will be immersed in the beauty.
As the evening sets in and the day visitors depart, peace descends over Milford. Board your overnight cruise to absorb the unparalleled serenity and untouched wilderness of Milford Sound.
Real Journeys operates two overnight cruises, the Milford Mariner which caters for up to 60 guests with private twin share or double cabins together with ensuite bathrooms. Then there is the Milford Wanderer as detailed here, which provides shared bunk-style accommodation as well as twin share accommodation for up to 61 passengers. The Wanderer does not offer ensuite facilities and instead has shared bathrooms. If you are wanting to book a twin share room on the Wanderer please go to the following link: Milford Wanderer Overnight Cruise Twin Share.
Exploring Milford on the Milford Wanderer is simply breathtaking. You will cruise the entire length of the fiord with a nature guide on board as well as an experienced and friendly crew. Milford is home to an abundance of wildlife so keep watch for native fur seals bathing on the rocks, penguins, dolphins and more. Jump a board the tender craft and step a shore at Sandfly Point, the starting point of the guided walk of world famous Milford Track. As the day comes to an end, the Milford Wanderer will sail (weather permitting) to sheltered Harrison Cove where you will spend the night.
