Description
Paradise Ziplines offer an amazing 8 line course, taking you on a journey by zipline (or flying fox as some call them) and walking track through the stunning native forest of the Oxburn stream valley in Glenorchy.
Ziplining is not as extreme as bungy jumping or canyon swinging so it is a great way to experience an exhilarating trip along with stunning scenery in an area that isn't accessible to the public. With no previous experience required your guide for the day will kit you out in full safety gear and train you on how to use the system. The guide will attach you to the zipline, work the brakes for you, take you off the line and attach you to the safety line so you can soak up all the beauty that surrounds you.
Beginning with a 15 minute uphill walk through native red beech forest you will find yourself at the starting point of the tour. The first line takes off from a cliff, travelling high over the Oxburn Stream with panoramic views of the course and surrounding mountains made famous by the Lord of the Rings. The next lines are over the forest and then it's time for the start of the tour, The Orc Chasm, which zips you 200 meters through a tree tunnelled slot canyon. The next lines weave downstream, just meters above the rapids and bring you to the finale at the Blue Lagoon.
Voted amongst the top 10 drives in New Zealand the drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy will leave you speechless! Sit back and relax on the 45 minute drive along the edge of Lake Wakatipu with photo opportunities along the way as your driver shares stories of history, legends and famous movie scene spots from Lord of the Rings.
